Francesco Bagnaia will end his current contract with Ducati in MotoGP at the end of this year, but his stay with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer seems to be increasingly just a matter of time before it is confirmed.
According to Marca newspaper, there is a desire from both parties to sign the renewal, with the two-time world champion in the premier class being the top priority in terms of renewals. The duration of the new contract – two years – also seems to be consensual. The economic aspects are also close, apparently, with Bagnaia favoring the policy of not paying astronomical salaries and preferring bonuses based on results.
The idea of Ducati is to close the new agreement in an early stage of the year, but not necessarily before the start of the season in March. At the moment, negotiations are still ongoing, but it is certain that when the renewal is resolved, there will be tranquility and focus to think exclusively about the work with the bike and on the track.
