This Monday, Jorge Martín was announced as an Aprilia rider in MotoGP in 2025 – which will mean his departure from Pramac Racing at the end of this season, something the team had long expected.
The Spaniard made his debut in the premier class in 2021 with Pramac and his growth was remarkable – after overcoming a serious injury suffered early in his debut season, he fought for the title for the first time last year finishing second, and this year, he came back stronger and leads the championship after seven rounds.
After the announcement, Pramac marked the farewell that will take place at the end of the season. Team manager Gino Borsoi did not spare praise for Martín: ‘I am grateful and proud to work with Jorge: one of the strongest and most talented riders I have ever met,’ he said, quoted by MotoGP.com.
The Italian emphasized the commitment to the rider for the rest of the season: ‘From now on, we will continue to do our best to achieve the maximum together, staying focused on this season, which has started wonderfully. I hope that Jorge, having decided about his future, can enjoy the rest of the season with us’.
