After his impressive arrival to Moto3 with a world title in his first year, Pedro Acosta entered Moto2 in 2022 with high expectations. However, the beginning was complicated, taking about half a season to find competitiveness and consistency. He even suffered a complicated femur injury before the summer break.
The Spanish rider, who is making his debut in MotoGP this year, admitted in a DAZN documentary that it was a mentally challenging season until he got injured during training… which he considers to have been helpful:
– I wanted to be a champion, but there was more pressure. I cried a lot during that season, I didn’t understand what was happening in my life. […] It’s not worth being upset for anyone. It’s not about thinking of retiring, but this is worth it. Getting injured helped me a lot.
