Franco Morbidelli is already on his way to Losail for the MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix. The Pramac rider was unable to participate in the tests due to injury, but his doctors have now authorized him to compete in the season opener.
According to the championship’s official website, the Italian had an MRI last Saturday with ‘favorable’ results. Morbidelli now needs approval from the championship doctors in tomorrow’s exams.
The pilot stated to the MotoGP website: ‘I am very pleased to have received medical clearance to start the season. I am looking forward to trying out the bike, getting back into the racing dynamic, and getting to know the people on my new team better. This year represents a significant change in my career, and despite this unfortunate incident, it is now in the past and I want to look forward. I am grateful to the doctors who have been monitoring me, to the people who have supported me during these weeks, and a special thanks to Prima Pramac Racing for their support‘.
It is worth remembering that Morbidelli suffered a blood clot in his head following a heavy fall while training at the Autódromo Internacional de Portimão with a production bike at the end of January.
