The Red Bull KTM Team closed this Sunday with its two riders well within the top 10, and Francesco Guidotti lamented that the team did not achieve the results it could have.
The team manager addressed Jack Miller’s race – seventh position – as follows: ‘An intense race. For Jack, it was solid. He gained ground on the leaders and held his position. He struggled a bit with the front tire ten laps from the end, but he stayed strong and finished with some points. It was tough and the tire choice wasn’t clear, but he made the right decision’.
He then analyzed Brad Binder’s performance, sixth, and the two key moments of the South African, who was involved in two race incidents, with the crash of Luca Marini and then with Miguel Oliveira. These incidents led to #33 having two long lap penalties:
– Brad finished in 6th place with two long laps! It was a very fast race for him. There was some shaking in turn 8, which caused him to lose some braking potential in turn 9 and hit Luca Marini; we apologize for that, but it was something out of our control. It was a strange contact also the second time.
Guidotti ended with a word about the team’s performance, which in his opinion, deserved a different result: ‘We showed our potential again, but we couldn’t achieve what we could and what we deserved’.
