Ducati was superior on the first day of MotoGP testing in Losail, but the opponents were not far behind. Francesco Bagnaia set the fastest time, in a top five with three Ducatis, an Aprilia, and a KTM. Miguel Oliveira finished 21st.
The best times came in the last two hours, during the night period. On the 36th of his 51 laps, Bagnaia (Ducati) set the reference time of the day at 1m52.040s. Other riders approached until the end, with Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) finishing second, 0.220s behind.
Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) were third and fourth, respectively, with laps completed in the final minutes. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) completed the top five, 0.427s behind Bagnaia, with Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) in sixth.
Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) had the best RC213V in ninth place, while Fabio Quartararo finished tenth and was the best of the Monster Energy Yamaha. Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team/Ducati), with 62 laps, accumulated the most kilometers, finishing in 11th. Further down, Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), who was in the top five at one point, finished 16th.
Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) had a discreet day, finishing only in 21st place, 1.903s behind Bagnaia.
