Pedro Acosta is one of the hot topics of conversation in MotoGP these days. The rookie stood out in the Sepang tests, being among the top ten fastest riders over the three days, and was one of those who went below the official lap record of the circuit.
The two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia was on track near the Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas Tech3. Although he couldn’t draw conclusions about the new rival, the Ducati rider revealed that he witnessed a mistake by Acosta:
– In the first outing, but I was always in front, so I didn’t see him. But I only heard that maybe in the first or second lap he went wide in the first corner. I only heard it when I was entering. From then on, on the next lap when I looked back, he wasn’t there. Maybe he got sucked into the slipstream. Rookie mistakes.
