After two consecutive podiums, Francesco Bagnaia arrives at the Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix in second place in the championship. He is 38 points behind the leader, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), with just two points more than Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati) behind him.
The Ducati rider, who has not been lucky in his recent visits to the Catalan round – particularly last year with a strong crash – emphasized the need to further improve competitiveness:
– Just like in France, we had bad luck in Montmeló in 2022 and 2023, but this year I hope it will be different. The previous weekend in Le Mans was positive overall, although we lacked something in the race compared to our competitors. Therefore, it will be important to continue working to be even more competitive.
Bagnaia also commented: ‘Comparing to Le Mans, I expect very different grip conditions here in Barcelona and there will be some very fast opponents. In any case, I am confident and ready to give my best as always‘.
