Francesco Bagnaia did something this year that only Marc Márquez and Valentino Rossi had achieved in the MotoGP era: being champion in two consecutive seasons.
The Ducati rider has now revealed to the championship’s official website that the possibility of achieving this feat was a motivation throughout 2023, stating:
– To find some motivation this season, two or three times we said with my coach: ‘The only two who defended the title were Vale and Marc. Only two in the last 20 years.’ And this was a great motivation.
