Francesco Bagnaia will have a new teammate at Ducati in the 2025 MotoGP season – none other than the eight-time world champion Marc Márquez, who has signed until 2026. Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martín, who has already signed with Aprilia, are left behind.
The Italian spoke to the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport about his new teammate, ensuring that the impact on him will not be significant: ‘He will add experience and will be important for development. Honestly, it doesn’t change much for me. I work for myself and with my team. The important thing is to maintain this atmosphere in the garage and I’m sure that won’t change‘.
The Ducati duo will be under the spotlight, as two riders who have the title as their sole objective. And although they are currently not on the same team, Bagnaia emphasized that there is already an equality of conditions:
– They will always say a thousand things, some will say that finally we will be on equal terms… the same thing happened with Enea. But I like this kind of challenge, we have nothing to envy. And above all, Martín and Márquez in their current teams have nothing less than me who is here.
The champion of 2022 and 2023 also said: ‘You always want more, the maximum. That’s why you choose the two riders who work for the same goal. The winner becomes unpopular. If I become one, I don’t care at all‘.
