Francesco Bagnaia has already renewed with Ducati in MotoGP until 2026. Now, the question that arises is who will be his teammate, with several possibilities – some more plausible than others.
Currently, the spot belongs to Enea Bastianini. The Italian couldn’t show his true value last year due to injuries and deserved a vote of confidence for 2023 despite Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) being the runner-up.
Bastianini started the season strong, already with a podium – after two races he is even ahead of Bagnaia in the championship. However, Martín also started in great form, has a victory, and leads the championship. And the Spaniard has made it clear that he wants to be in a factory team with Ducati, whether it’s at Ducati or not.
Then, there’s Marc Márquez, who is adapting well to the Ducati of Gresini and has the undeniable qualities and arguments of a six-time champion in the premier class. In a press conference, Bagnaia was asked which of these three riders he would prefer to have as a teammate in 2025. In response, the two-time world champion stated: ‘I’m on my own path and I’m not worried. They will decide. In any case, I think of who deserves the place the most‘.
