At 26 years old, Francesco Bagnaia still has many years ahead of him in MotoGP, especially as he is in the best phase of his career with two consecutive titles and part of a Ducati team that has the leading bike in the field.
But what if the future involved a switch to the World Superbike Championship? More and more riders have been making that move in the early stages of their careers, like two-time champion Álvaro Bautista.
However, it is rare to find top MotoGP riders taking the risk of competing in WSBK. Max Biaggi is one of the very few examples.
Still, Bagnaia revealed to the site GPOne.com that the possibility of becoming champion in WSBK is something that crosses his mind: ‘Every now and then I think about it. I like to look at the numbers and statistics at the end of the season, Wikipedia is a page I consult a lot. I would also like to win in Superbike, but there is still a long way to go for that’.
