Francesco Bagnaia stood out in the MotoGP Qatar GP, from which he emerged as the championship leader with a victory in the main race. Next up is the Portuguese GP, where he achieved two victories in 2023.
The Ducati rider believes he has the potential to deliver another strong performance in Portimão next weekend, but he also admitted he expects strong competition:
– I am happy to be back competing in Portugal! Portimão is a track that I really like, and where I have always been fast in the past. Last year I won both the Sprint and the GP on Sunday. We have the potential to do well again this year, but it won’t be easy: I expect many opponents capable of fighting for the win and very fierce competition. In any case, we are ready. We will work as always from Friday to try to arrive at the two races as prepared as possible.
