Miguel Oliveira did not finish the main race of the French MotoGP Grand Prix and, as a result, left Le Mans without any points. And this is a track that continues to be negative for the Trackhouse Racing rider.
In Sunday’s race, until the retirement due to a technical issue on the bike, the Portuguese rider had prospects of achieving one of his best results, finishing at least in the top eight. The only better result was sixth place in 2018, when he was still in Moto2.
Since joining MotoGP, Oliveira has only scored one point in Le Mans, obtained with a 15th place in 2019 (his debut year). After that, there were two retirements in 2021 and 2022 and an absence due to injury in 2023, before failing to finish the race again this year.
Even in the lower categories, the “Falcon’s” record at the French Grand Prix is one of the least positive: he has only achieved three top-ten results and it is one of the five circuits where he has competed in the World Championships without reaching the podium. The others are Estoril (only one participation in 2011), Buddh (which debuted in MotoGP last year), Losail, and Indianapolis (where he only competed between 2011 and 2015).
