Marc Márquez is a rider who has a very unique and often quite aggressive riding style, which has been his trademark over the years, somewhat distinct from the approach Álex Márquez takes on the track.
The younger of the clan spoke about his brother on Antena 3 (Spanish TV), as quoted by Motosan, emphasizing the difference between them and even recalling what used to happen on the track: ‘For him, entering slowly is “entering full throttle”. When he was in Moto2 and Moto3, I used to tell myself: “Enter slowly”. I would enter slowly, lose 0.3s, 0.5s. I would enter slowly, but then I wouldn’t recover’, with Marc responding with laughter: ‘So you exited as you could’.
With several years in MotoGP, all of them in the premier class with Honda, Marc saw the Repsol Honda Team as a family, but Álex, in his second year at Gresini, shared a recent episode within the Italian team’s garage that illustrates the friendly atmosphere there: ‘He turned 31, we were in Qatar and we gave him some anti-wrinkle creams, because after 30 you have to take care of yourself’, he recalled.
Both Marc and Álex have contracts with Gresini until the end of 2024.
