Fermín Aldeguer is undeniably one of the main figures in the Moto2 World Championship at the moment and once again showed his potential in Portugal, showing why Ducati did not hesitate to sign him immediately for 2025. After the race in Portimão, he confessed that he did not leave particularly happy since… he had everything to win, he believes.
For the Beta Tools SpeedUp Team rider, the race in Portugal was marked by a double Long Lap penalty due to the fact that his bike was not completely stopped at the start of the Moto2 race, which ultimately cost him a severe penalty in a race that he felt he could “easily” win: ‘I went home with a bitter taste because on Sunday we had the pace and speed to win the race for sure’.
Still, there were reasons to be happy, as he explained: “However, I am satisfied with the result because we made a great recovery after the two long laps. Furthermore, the feelings on the Boscoscuro were great, so much so that I felt the same sensations as I did in the last four races of the previous season.”
