Fermín Aldeguer led the Moto2 Practice 1 at the Dutch GP with a new lap record for the category at the Assen circuit. Boscoscuro once again showed strength with three bikes in the top four.
A crash by Filip Salac (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) at Turn 7 caused a red flag early on when no one had set lap times. The rider had to visit the medical center but walked away unaided.
Upon resumption, Alonso López (Folladore SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) was first to set a timed lap, only to be eclipsed by Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex) two minutes later, then Sergio García (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro) took the lead.
The Spaniard was overtaken by teammate Ai Ogura, who was then overtaken by Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex), the current championship leader. Shortly after, the American rider suffered a heavy highside at Turn 7, fracturing his right clavicle.
The session continued with Ogura reclaiming the lead briefly before Aldeguer set a new lap record of 1m35.912s. Ogura finished second, 0.072s behind after improving his time, followed by Roberts at 0.271s. García and Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) completed the top five.
