Fermín Aldeguer is one of the most promising Moto2 riders at the moment and has already secured a contract with Ducati to move up to MotoGP in 2025. However, this year has not been easy for the SpeedUp/Boscoscuro rider.
After five rounds, he has only one victory and another podium finish, placing him third in the championship. He has not yet shown consistency in top positions and is 26 points behind the leader, Sergio García (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro).
In an interview with GPOne.com about talented riders who have passed through his team, Luca Boscoscuro highlighted the importance of joint work with the rider before discussing Aldeguer’s 2024 season:
– This is fundamental for achieving results; if the rider and the team work well together, the bike becomes competitive. Fermín has very high potential and uncommon abilities. This year he hasn’t got into that gear yet; he hasn’t been on the lucky side of the season. […]. He is doing well, but Moto2 is the toughest category, and when everything isn’t at 100 percent, it’s hard to even be in the top ten.
