The former world champion still struggles with his M1 when it comes to battling with the most competitive riders and, in statements to Sky Sport, said he is discussing his future, not just with Yamaha: ‘We are talking to everyone about my future. I think it’s interesting to do so’.
Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha are seemingly drifting further apart each day, as the rider does not see the manufacturer as competitive and progress, although happening, is taking ‘too long’, as he has said before. Now, the Frenchman has confessed to being in talks with ‘everyone’, trying to find a balance in the financial aspect and, at the same time, enter a project that allows him to fight for top positions.
Still, your decision will not be immediate, although you acknowledge that the decision will not take long to be made: ‘I will not take months and months to make a decision, I will soon pave my own way to the future. I’m not saying it will be soon, but I won’t wait that long’.
The financial aspect is also important, as you mentioned, but also having a competitive bike: ‘Money is an important factor for everyone. But I want a project that I like and that allows me to achieve the results I want’.
There will be many riders looking for a new contract for the next season, as the vast majority of the grid still does not have contracts defined, so many changes are expected for 2025.
