After having partnered with Franco Morbidelli in recent years, Fabio Quartararo will have a new teammate at Monster Energy Yamaha for the 2024 MotoGP season – Álex Rins, coming from LCR Honda.
The Spanish rider already has extensive experience, having ridden for Suzuki and LCR Honda. Quartararo expressed excitement about the arrival of #42, stating to Motorsport.com: ‘Álex will be the only rider who has ridden three different bikes in three years. He competed with Suzuki last year, Honda this year, and next year he will do it with Yamaha. He will have gone from an inline four-cylinder engine to a V4, and then back to another inline four-cylinder’.
The 2021 world champion highlighted the importance of Rins’ feedback: ‘Álex’s information will be very important for us. Knowing how he turns the Honda and how Suzuki used to do it. I have an endless amount of questions for him’.
