The MotoGP Portuguese GP will be Álex Rins’ second with Monster Energy Yamaha. The rider didn’t start off well in terms of results, leaving Losail without points, now looking for a better outcome in Portimão.
The Spaniard mentioned that the season opener ended up being useful, only regretting the final phase of the race: ‘Even if the result wasn’t good, our race in Qatar was very useful to extract some data and learn a lot for Portimão. It’s a shame that in the last six laps we paid the price for attacking too hard to recover positions because our tires were finished‘.
That said, Rins was pleased with the level shown to be in line with his teammate, considering it a positive: ‘I’m happy because we were riding at a similar pace to the other Yamaha [Fabio Quartararo], which means we are at the same level, and we can both work together to improve in the same way‘.
