In the upcoming season, Fabio Di Giannantonio will remain in MotoGP with Pertamina Enduro VR46, but he will make a significant leap, transitioning from last year’s Ducati Desmosedici GP23 to the GP25 for 2025.
The Italian rider spoke to GPOne.com, expressing curiosity about the new bike while hoping for a smooth adaptation: ‘I can’t wait to try it out to see for myself how it feels. From the amazed feedback of those who tested the GP23 again and then switched to the GP25 [Michele Pirro], I was surprised. He didn’t expect to have so much difficulty on the GP23, and returning to the GP25 really highlights the difference. Above all, I hope not to face the same challenges with the handling at the pace we were used to this year’.
Di Giannantonio is optimistic that the new bike could provide a significant competitive advantage: ‘This in itself would already be a big step forward. It would allow me to optimize my riding style without focusing too much on refining the package, which is already starting off well’.
That said, the #49 rider acknowledged the learning curve ahead: ‘Of course, I’m not taking anything for granted – it’s still a new bike, and there will be an adaptation period, just as there was transitioning from the GP22 to the GP23. So, there is a lot of work to do, and nothing is guaranteed. But I certainly hope to start from an excellent base’.
