Jordi Torres, one of the most experienced riders in the field, led the first practice session of the MotoE German GP in a commanding fashion – although he was far from the category’s lap record at Sachsenring, as the track was damp and drying throughout the session.

In the early minutes, Andrea Mantovani (Klint Forward) stood out, alternating the lead with Eric Granado (LCR E-Team), while Óscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi) also briefly topped the timesheets.

With 12 minutes gone, Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) took the lead, but was soon overtaken by Torres (Openbank Aspar).

The Spanish two-time champion set a sequence of three fast laps, securing the best time at 1m33.374s. The top four riders posted their best times on their final laps.
Gutiérrez finished second, 0.874s behind Torres, followed by Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) and Mantovani. Zaccone completed the top five, 1.445s off the pace. Championship leader Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) set the seventh fastest time.
