In terms of suspension, there is an inverted unit at the front and a rear mono-shock with linkage to the swingarm and adjustable preload and extension. In terms of braking, this NK model mounts a disc on each axle with J.Juan components, with the front assembly consisting of a large 320 mm disc and a 4-piston radial caliper, with a dual-channel ABS system. As for the connection to the ground, it is done through CST tires that we already knew from the 450SR.
Regarding the engine, we are talking about a parallel twin that in terms of power is below 35Kw to fit into the A2 license. The 34.5 Kw (obtained at 10,000 rpm) mean about 46.9 hp and the maximum torque is 39.3 Nm at 7,750 rpm. It has a dual balance shaft, slipper clutch, traction control, and the 270º crankshaft contributes to the fantastic sound, naturally helped by an exhaust that fortunately doesn’t seem (at all) muffled. According to the brand, these numbers are enough for this NK to reach 178 km/h and ensure an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The specifications are similar to those of a sportbike, even in the gearbox and final drive ratios, but the brand states that adjustments were made to the electronics so that the NK reacts better at low and medium revs.
The instrumentation is very complete and has excellent readability. This is one of the available backgrounds, with a quite radical visual…
…being this the other visualization mode, more traditional, that we ended up choosing throughout the entire journey with the 450NK.
At the front, the aesthetic aggressiveness is the dominant note, but in a fluid way, with general consensus that the aesthetics are very well achieved.
The driving position is good and the driver’s seat is without flaws. However, the passenger seat is too hard and of cramped dimensions.
Beautiful details on a Chinese motorcycle with Italian design.
If in the front we have aesthetic aggressiveness, in the rear light we can say that refinement and good taste are the dominant note.
The twin-cylinder engine is practically similar to that of the 450SR sports bike, so we have liveliness and plenty of character in all regimes.
The braking is in line with the (good) performance of the NK, and the suspensions are more on the firm side, which is positive.
This exhaust is responsible for the excellent sound of the NK. The tires have a very sporty design, with few grooves, and after heating up they offer good safety.
After reading the text you already know which is my favorite decoration, but the other two are not bad either.
ON THE ROAD
The day dawned cold, very cold in the Costa Nova area in Aveiro, but I managed to arrive early at the motorcycle area to choose my favorite decoration, the white and blue one. Personally, I consider this motorcycle to be beautiful, perhaps the sporty naked for A2 license that pleases me the most, and the adaptation to the controls is quick. The riding position is spacious for riders of various heights, the legs are not too bent, and the handlebar has the right width. The instrumentation is very pleasant to read and when we start the engine we remember the good times we had with the SR, as the sound is the same and truly remarkable, resembling that of a much higher displacement motorcycle. However, not everything was easy: the motorcycle was practically out of the box, the tires (with almost slick tread) still had “gum”, the temperature was very low, and as soon as we hit the curves we were greeted with wet roads until lunchtime. In these conditions, we took the opportunity to understand how the engine fits perfectly in this model, being quite lively at all speeds and always with character. We can ride in sixth gear from 75 km/h (about 4,000 rpm), but we usually choose to shift one or two gears down to favor the mid and high ranges of this twin-cylinder. Because it was almost virgin in terms of kilometers, the suspensions also seemed too stiff, but it was necessary to ride this NK dry, which ended up happening in the afternoon. We didn’t have any scares with the wet road, but it can be said that everything improved with the dry asphalt. The tires warmed up, the suspensions started to work better, we could verify that the braking is also at a good level, and we were already able to take advantage of the fun engine on a very winding road, where the agility of the NK was also put to the test. It seemed to us only that the consumption (on the instrumentation) around 5.1 l/100 km is a bit high, something we had already noticed in the SR, although we have not yet measured the actual consumption at the pump. Maybe next time. Among the aspects to improve, I believe it would be possible to design a softer and more comfortable seat for the passenger, while the throttle response is slightly abrupt, something we have been warning almost every time we ride a CFMOTO. But taking a quick balance, this is indeed a balanced and very fun motorcycle, with an incredible sound and one of the best proposals in the segment. I just had a doubt, a good doubt actually: I don’t know which one I would choose between the sporty 450SR and this naked 450NK!CFMOTO 450NK
