Enea Bastianini is in the best phase since joining Ducati. After three rounds of the MotoGP World Championship, he is in second place in the championship, with two consecutive podiums, and 21 points behind leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
The Italian, who missed the Spanish round last year due to injury, is confident in his chances of achieving a strong result in the upcoming weekend – while also acknowledging that there are aspects to improve:
– I am happy to be competing in Jerez again. It is a beautiful track where I really enjoy riding. Last year I tried to come back here after my shoulder injury, but I wasn’t ready and had to withdraw before the two races. This year we will compete in Spain after two podiums, and although Jerez is a very different track from Austin, we have everything in place for another successful weekend. I have regained the feeling with the bike and our team is strong. I need to focus on being more consistent in the early phase of the race and being more decisive in the Sprint.
Regarding the test that will take place in Jerez on Monday, Bastianini stated: ‘After the GP, we will have a test day in Jerez, which will be crucial to address all the aspects that we do not have time to refine during the competition weekend‘.
