Ducati has the most coveted spot in the MotoGP paddock for 2025, currently held by Enea Bastianini. However, the rider is at the end of his contract and there are two other strong candidates – championship leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), who is in third place.
The Italian stated in a press conference on Thursday: ‘I know that this is probably the most difficult decision for Ducati at the moment, because right now we are in the top four of the championship. Pecco [Bagnaia] already has a contract‘.
Next, Bastianini stated: ‘The decision may be difficult, but at the moment my chances are not bad. Ducati is very fast on all tracks and has also improved compared to last year; every year we have something more‘.
Despite believing in continuity, #23 is also aware that he faces tough rivals: ‘I may be a factory rider for next year as well, but I also know the speed of other riders like Jorge or Marc, and it will be complicated. I am confident in staying here, but we will see‘.
