Enea Bastianini is completing his second MotoGP season with Ducati. After a 2023 season marked by injuries, he is currently showing a good performance in 2024 – with two podiums in five races.
He is currently in fourth place in the championship, 40 points behind Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) who leads and only two points behind his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia. With his contract ending soon, it is up to Bastianini to prove with results that he deserves his spot.
However, he also faces tough competition, especially from Martín and Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), so his task will not be easy. His manager, Carlo Pernat, assured GPOne.com that staying with Ducati is ‘a priority’.
But in a dynamic world where the rider market moves unexpectedly at times, Bastianini is exploring other possibilities, according to Pernat: ‘Moving to Pramac with an official bike could be possible, but it’s not certain. The sirens of Aprilia, KTM, and even Yamaha are calling out to us. I cannot hide the fact that Aprilia has strong arguments: an Italian bike for an Italian rider in a competitive machine. I negotiate with them as with others’.
