The new EnduroGP World Championship season begins this weekend in Fafe, Portugal, where the world’s best riders will face the first of seven rounds.

A total of 136 riders and more than 11 factory-supported teams are registered for this opening event. Fafe is hosting the season opener for the second consecutive year. Josep García (Red Bull KTM) is defending his title from last year but is coming off a collarbone injury. Steve Holcombe (Honda Racing Red Moto), who won in Fafe last year, is also competing – having moved from Enduro 1 to Enduro 2.

Brad Freeman (Beta) has also recently recovered from an injury and aims to start the season strong as he looks to add to his ten world titles. Andrea Verona represents GasGas as the reigning Enduro 2 champion, while Sherco’s ambitions are led by Hamish MacDonald, just as Zach Pichon takes on the role at TM after riding for Sherco in 2024.

Jed Etchells makes his debut with Fantic in Enduro 1, while Junior World Champion Max Ahlin steps up to EnduroGP with Team JTM Pro Racing Sport, competing in Enduro 2.

The event will also feature the official unveiling of Triumph’s new enduro bikes – the TF 250-E and TF 450-E – on Friday, marking the British brand’s debut in the championship. Their riders for the season will be Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson.

The Akrapovic Super Test kicks off the action on Friday night, but the main competition takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Riders will tackle a 56km circuit each day – three laps for EnduroGP, Junior, and Youth categories, and two laps for Women, Junior Women, and Open. Each lap includes three Special Tests: the Acerbis Cross Test, GMoto Enduro Test, and Polisport Extreme Test.
