Richard Cooper and Paul Jordan claimed victory in Saturday’s Supertwin races at the North West 200, both of which delivered intense action and thrilling battles right to the final laps around Causeway Coast and Glens.

In race one, the fight for victory was between Cooper (Jack Reid Cars/Kawasaki) and Adam McLean (Flitwick Motorcycles-SMV/Yamaha). The two remained close throughout, with McLean leading for the majority of the race.

However, Cooper made a decisive move later on and McLean had no chance to respond, finishing just 0.280s behind. Jeremy McWilliams (JMcC Racing/Aprilia) crossed the line in a lonely third place.

The second race saw McLean dominate the opening two laps, even building a comfortable lead. But Cooper mounted a strong comeback and began closing the gap.

During an overtaking attempt, the two riders collided, allowing Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing by Prosper2/Aprilia) – who had been running in third – to take over at the front and cruise to victory with a 9.818s margin over Michael Sweeney (M8R/Aprilia). Barry Furber (DC Autos/Yamaha) completed the podium. McLean and Cooper were both forced to retire following their incident on lap two.
