The roads of India are dominated by scooters and small-displacement motorcycles, with functionality and accessibility in mind. When electric motorcycles eventually take over, this situation is likely to remain the same, except that internal combustion engines will have been replaced by electric motors. In fact, we are witnessing the beginning of this trend with the popularity of electric models such as the Ola S1 and the Ather 450X.
From enthusiasts’ point of view, it is always refreshing to see new models focusing on a more sporty and performance-oriented driving experience. This is the case with Tork Motors from India and their popular electric motorcycle Kratos R. Although technically a small-displacement electric motorcycle (with power similar to a 150 cc motorcycle), it deviates from the standard scooter pattern, taking the form of a naked sport bike. That being said, Tork Motors is continuously working to improve their products and recently launched an update for the Kratos R.
Owners of the electric motorcycle Tork Kratos R can now achieve more range by adding an Eco+ mode. According to the manufacturer, the Eco+ mode optimizes performance to maximize range and increases the motorcycle’s range with a single charge to 150 km. It is worth noting that the Eco+ mode will come standard in the new Kratos R models, with current owners having the option to also get a software update. The new Eco+ mode aims to save essential battery power, limiting the maximum speed to just 35 km/h. It is by far the slowest of the modes offered, but should prove useful when navigating through traffic or in heavily populated residential areas. The Kratos R, however, has three other modes including Eco, City, and Sport, with the Sport mode offering a maximum speed of 105 km/h.
This electric model is not available in Europe, but it is always important to note the evolution and popularity that electric models are beginning to have in the world of motorcycling. For more information, you can visit the official Tork Motors website.
