Prima Pramac Racing is currently the main satellite team of Ducati in MotoGP, receiving the latest version of the bike and those who are, in theory, the strongest riders after the factory team.
Proof of this is that their rider Jorge Martín fought for the title until the last race last year, as well as leading the championship this year after seven rounds. And Pramac was the team champion in 2023, a unique achievement.
However, there are rumors of an imminent move to Yamaha, which offers more attractive financial conditions from 2025 – although sportingly it may not be as enticing immediately, given that the YZR-M1 is far from being one of the most competitive bikes.
Last week, Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi hinted that they will not leave Ducati, but speculation continues. And Gigi Dall’Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse, confirmed to the Sky Sport website that Paolo Campinoti’s team may leave:
– The risk of losing Pramac is definitely real, everyone is hoping they do something different from Ducati. For us it would be a personal and sporting disappointment. Pramac and Campinoti have been with us for a long time, they have been part of the success we have at the moment, so it would be a disappointment, but everything is still being evaluated. However, the problem does exist.
