With the second episode of World Première 2024, Ducati presents the new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour (link to watch the episode here). A model dedicated to Ducatisti who love to travel without limits, with maximum comfort and safety. The Multistrada for travelers who pay attention to details, who always demand the best from their Ducati, even in style. A complete bike with all the accessories for long-distance travels “first class”. The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour arrives during the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Multistrada (link to the press release of the temporary exhibition here), and integrates the values and characteristics that have always made it a bike ahead of its time.

The Multistrada is indeed the flagship in which Ducati introduced innovations and technological developments such as Riding Modes, which have redefined the standards of the motorcycle industry.

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is a Full Optional motorcycle based on the S model with Travel & Radar settings. It is actually equipped as standard with the radar system with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), to improve safety and driving comfort. In terms of safety, the TPMS system, which shows tire pressure on the instrument panel, and additional LED lights to improve visibility at night and in fog, are standard on the Grand Tour.

The side cases, standard on the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, are integrated with the motorcycle’s color scheme. With a total volume of 60 liters, they allow you to carry everything you need, even on the longest trips. The center stand, included in the standard equipment, helps to make all operations with the cases easier, from mounting and dismounting to opening and closing.

Comfort on the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is also enhanced by the standard installation of heated grips, as well as the driver and passenger seats. In addition, the presence of the ‘hands-free’ fuel cap simplifies refueling, allowing you to always keep the motorcycle key in your pocket.

Finally, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour incorporates several updates adopted in the V4 rally. The handlebar is actually rigidly mounted on the steering head, without risers, providing a more direct driving feel without compromising comfort. The passenger seat is the model introduced in the V4 rally, for ideal support on long journeys, and, like the rider’s seat, is adorned with an external cover with dedicated graphics.

In addition to this, in order to increase thermal comfort, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour adopts thermal shields on the swingarm and on the left side of the rear subframe, as well as ducts that can be closed in the leg area. The dedicated smartphone compartment is now ventilated.

Just like in all Multistrada V4 family bikes, the Grand Tour is also equipped with the navigation system based on the Phone Mirroring solution, which allows you to turn the 6.5″ TFT screen into a color navigation map with all the necessary information to ride the bike.

In the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, there is the Minimum Preload function, which allows the rider to lower the bike when stopping or when riding at low speeds, reducing the shock absorber preload to a minimum. The Easy Lift function, on the other hand, reduces the effort required to lift the bike off the side stand by opening the suspension hydraulic when the key is ON.

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour completes the family also composed of the V4 Pikes Peak, designed for sports driving enthusiasts, and the Multistrada V4 Rally, dedicated to ‘globetrotters’ who don’t stop even when the asphalt roads end.

The Multistrada V4 is designed to allow Ducatisti to travel without limits in maximum peace of mind, thanks to benchmark maintenance intervals (valve clearance check every 60,000 km) and the 4EVER Ducati and Roadside Assistance programs. The first offers a four-year warranty with unlimited mileage. The Roadside Assistance program, offered on all Multistrada V4 models, adds travel assistance, transportation for the rider and passenger, a replacement vehicle, and a one-night stay in a four-star hotel in case of problems that occur during the standard warranty coverage period. All this with the peace of mind offered by a network of over 800 Ducati Authorized Dealers in more than 90 countries around the world.

Esthetics

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is enhanced with dedicated, elegant, and dynamic graphics at the same time. The color scheme of the superstructures is reflected in black for the frame, swingarm, handlebars, and handlebar. The driver and passenger seats are embellished with specific graphics.

Engine

The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine delivers 170 hp (125 kW) at 10,500 rpm and 125 Nm (12.7 kgm) at 8,750 rpm, with a particularly linear torque curve that ensures a smooth and progressive response at any speed. The engine’s performance, combined with its total weight of only 66.7 kg, allows the V4 Granturismo to establish itself as the category benchmark in terms of power and lightness. These numbers are combined with refined technical solutions, such as the counter-rotating crankshaft, derived from the experience gained by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, which works “against” the gyroscopic inertia of the wheels. The results are a smooth delivery at low revs, robust torque in the mid-range, and power at high revs.

Electronics

In addition to the systems already mentioned, the electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour offers the best in the motorcycle sector in terms of safety, comfort, performance, and connectivity. The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) manages the operation of Cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Lights (DCL), and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), which makes starting on inclined roads simple.

On the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, the inertial platform also continuously communicates with the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) semi-active suspension control system. This system is not only capable of analyzing driving conditions, instantly adjusting the fork and shock absorber, but also, for the first time, integrates the Autolevelling function.
Source: Ducati Media House
The Autolevelling recognizes the settings of the bike and adjusts them autonomously to place the seat at the ideal height from the ground in different riding configurations, adding to the (manual) options already available to the user: rider, rider plus luggage, rider and passenger, rider and passenger plus luggage. Finally, the smartphone mirror functions, implemented through the Ducati Connect System, allow for simple and intuitive control of the phone and music. Customization However, the comprehensive equipment of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour offers ample room for customization. To meet the ergonomic needs of rider and passenger, the accessories catalog offers a variety of seats, a motorcycle lowering kit, and various options for the windshield.

Ducatisti who want to further enhance the tourist qualities of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour can adopt additional luggage solutions, designed for both the tank and the rear rack, such as a top case or tank bag.

It is also possible to make the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour even more sporty and beautify it with different components in carbon fiber, machined aluminum levers and footrests, dynamic LED turn signals, and machined aluminum brake and clutch fluid reservoirs.

Equipment

Ducati has also specifically created some equipment items to fully explore the touring possibilities of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour. For example, the Atacama C2 suit, with large areas dedicated to ventilation, detachable sleeves, and three independent layers, including a thermal lining and a waterproof membrane, to offer comfort in all weather conditions.

Alternatively, the Strada C5 suit, made of comfortable and robust stretch fabric, thanks to the detachable Gore-Tex® inner membrane and an internal feather jacket that can be worn as a separate piece when we leave the bike parked.

Colors and availability

The new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour will be available at the network of Authorized Dealers starting at the end of September, only in the Grand Tour color scheme.
The dynamic video of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour can be seen on the Ducati YouTube channel. More information and images of the new model are available at Ducati Media House.
