With the second episode of World Première 2024, Ducati presents the new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour (link to watch the episode here). A model dedicated to Ducatisti who love to travel without limits, in maximum comfort and safety. The Multistrada for travelers who pay attention to detail, who always demand the best from their Ducati, even in terms of style. A complete motorcycle with all the accessories for long-distance travel “in first class”. The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour arrives during the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Multistrada (link to the press release for the temporary exhibition here), and integrates the values and characteristics that have always made it a motorcycle ahead of its time.

The Multistrada is, in fact, the flagship on which Ducati introduced innovations and technological developments such as the Riding Modes, which redefined the standards of the motorcycle industry.

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is a Full Optional motorcycle based on the S model with Travel & Radar settings. It is, in fact, equipped as standard with the radar system with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), to improve safety and riding comfort. Still on the subject of safety, the TPMS system, which displays tire pressure on the instrument panel, and additional LED lights to improve visibility at night and in fog, are fitted as standard on the Grand Tour.

The side cases, standard on the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, are integrated with the bike’s color scheme. Thanks to their total volume of 60 liters, they allow you to carry everything you need, even on long journeys. The center stand, included in the standard equipment, helps make all bag operations easier, from mounting and dismounting to opening and closing.

Comfort on the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is also enhanced by the standard fitting of heated grips, as well as the driver and passenger seats. In addition, the presence of the ‘hands-free’ fuel cap simplifies refueling, allowing you to keep the bike’s key in your pocket at all times.

Finally, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour incorporates several updates adopted from the V4 rally. The handlebars are in fact rigidly mounted on the steering table, without synoblocks, providing more direct riding sensations without compromising on comfort. The passenger seat is the model introduced on the V4 rally, for optimum support on long journeys, and, like the rider’s, is embellished with an external cover with dedicated graphics.

Furthermore, in order to increase thermal comfort, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour adopts heat shields on the swingarm and on the left side of the rear subframe, as well as ducts that can be closed in the leg area. The dedicated smartphone compartment is now ventilated.

As with all bikes in the Multistrada V4 family, the Grand Tour is also equipped with the navigation system based on the Phone Mirroring solution, which allows you to turn the 6.5″ TFT screen into a color navigation map with all the information you need to ride the bike.

On the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour there is the Minimum Preload function, which allows the rider to lower the bike when stopping or when traveling at low speed, reducing the preload of the shock absorber to a minimum. The Easy Lift function, on the other hand, reduces the effort required to lift the bike from the side stand by opening the suspension hydraulics when the key is turned ON.

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour completes the family also made up of the V4 Pikes Peak, designed for lovers of sporty riding, and the Multistrada V4 Rally, dedicated to globetrotters who don’t stop even when the asphalt roads end.

The Multistrada V4 is designed to allow Ducatisti to travel without limits in maximum peace of mind, thanks to the reference maintenance intervals (valve clearance check every 60,000 km) and the 4EVER Ducati and Roadside Assistance programs. The former offers a four-year warranty with unlimited mileage. The Roadside Assistance program, offered on all Multistrada V4s, adds roadside assistance, transport for the rider and passenger, a replacement vehicle and a one-night stay in a four-star hotel in the event of problems occurring on the road during the standard warranty coverage period. All this with the peace of mind offered by a network of over 800 Ducati Authorized Dealers in more than 90 countries around the world.

Aesthetics

The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is enhanced with dedicated graphics that are elegant and dynamic at the same time. The color scheme of the superstructures is reflected in black for the frame, swingarm, steering tables and handlebars. The driver and passenger seats are embellished with specific graphics.

The engine

Source:Ducati Media House

The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine delivers 170 hp (125 kW) at 10,500 rpm and 125 Nm (12.7 kgm) at 8,750 rpm, with a particularly linear torque curve that guarantees a smooth and progressive response at any speed. The engine’s performance, combined with its total weight of just 66.7 kg, allows the V4 Granturismo to confirm itself as the class benchmark in terms of power and lightness. These figures are combined with refined technical solutions, such as the counter-rotating crankshaft, derived from the experience gained by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, which works “against” the gyroscopic inertia of the wheels. The results are a fluid delivery at low revs, robust torque in the mid-range and power at high revs.

Electronics

In addition to the systems already mentioned, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour’s electronics package offers the best in motorcycling in terms of safety, comfort, performance and connectivity. The inertial platform (IMU) manages the operation of ABS Cornering, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Lights (DCL) and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), which makes starting on sloping roads simple.

On the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, the inertial platform also communicates continuously with the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) semi-active suspension control system. This system is not only able to analyze riding conditions, instantly adjusting the fork and shock absorber, but for the first time it also integrates the Autolevelling function.

Autolevelling recognizes the bike’s settings and autonomously adjusts them to place the seat at the ideal height from the ground in different riding configurations, adding to the (manual) options already available to the user: rider, rider plus luggage, rider and passenger, rider and passenger plus luggage.

Finally, the smartphone mirror functions, implemented through the Ducati Connect System, allow you to control your phone and music in a simple and intuitive way.

Customization

However, the complete equipment of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour offers ample scope for customization. To meet the ergonomic needs of rider and passenger, the accessories catalog offers a variety of seats, a lowering set for the bike and various options for the windshield.

Ducatisti who want to further enhance the touring qualities of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour can adopt additional luggage solutions, designed for both the tank and the rear grille, such as a top case or tank bag.

It’s also possible to make the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour even sportier and embellish it with different carbon fiber components, levers and footpegs machined from solid aluminum, dynamic LED indicators and brake fluid and clutch reservoirs machined from aluminum.

Equipment

Ducati has also specifically created some items of equipment to fully exploit the touring possibilities of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour. The Atacama C2 suit, for example, with large areas dedicated to ventilation, detachable sleeves and three independent layers, including a thermal lining and waterproof membrane, to offer comfort in all weather conditions.

Alternatively, the Strada C5 suit, made from comfortable and robust stretch fabric, thanks to the detachable Gore-Tex® inner membrane and an inner feather jacket that can be used as a stand-alone piece when leaving the bike parked.

Colors and availability

The new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour will be available from the Authorized Dealer network from the end of September, only in the Grand Tour color scheme
The dynamic video of the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour can be seen on Ducati’s YouTube channel. More information and images of the new model are available at Ducati Media House.
