Ducati has the most coveted spot in MotoGP for 2025, with strong candidates vying for it. At this point, everything points to Marc Márquez being the chosen one, but there are no official confirmations yet.
Meanwhile, other manufacturers are on standby. With the seat next to Francesco Bagnaia being the most desirable at the moment, riders nearing the end of their contracts do not want to miss the potential opportunity. And, at the same time, teams have to carefully wait to make the best possible decisions.
Miguel Oliveira, who is at Trackhouse and nearing the end of his contract, spoke to SportTV about Ducati’s uncertainty, admitting that it creates a certain nervousness among the rest of the grid:
– Ducati is clearly using the power they have to have the opportunity to have three very good riders [two, as Jorge Martín has since been announced by Aprilia] in their structure. So they are taking advantage of understanding that they have the rider market a bit under control. That is, after their decision, other brands will make their decisions. And obviously they are using this instability to create some nervousness, some anxiety in everyone.
