Ducati may be limited in the development possibilities of its MotoGP bike, but that didn’t stop them from taking the spotlight in 2024. The Borgo Panigale manufacturer seemed to be one step ahead of its rivals with the new Desmosedici GP24 in pre-season testing, and Mattia Pasini had the same feeling.
In an interview with MOW Mag, the Italian stated: ‘Ducati has been the Red Bull of MotoGP for a few years. In Formula 1, [Adrian] Newey started from a blank sheet of paper and is once again raising the level even though he didn’t need to; Ducati is doing the same, while the others are always chasing‘.
As for Ducati’s opponents, Pasini believes that one stood out in terms of progress: ‘In my opinion, KTM took the biggest step forward, Aprilia is up there, while I see Honda and Yamaha in a very deep abyss‘.
