Ducati currently has eight bikes in the MotoGP field, half of which are official – the two from the factory team and the two from Pramac Racing, whose team manager Gino Borsoi ensured continuity under the same conditions in 2025.
However, there is another element to consider: Marc Márquez, who is with Gresini riding last year’s version of the Desmosedici GP and wants to be on a current bike in 2025. However, he ruled out moving to Pramac, so to stay under Ducati’s umbrella there would need to be a fifth official bike on track – unless he stays in the factory team, where Jorge Martín is considered a certainty.
However, this scenario is not being considered at the moment. Ducati’s sporting director told the official MotoGP website that there are no certainties yet, but for now, a fifth official Desmosedici GP for 2025 is not being considered:
– Can I answer at the end of the year? Because, to be honest, we don’t know. We want to focus on this race, this weekend. We still don’t know, to be honest. At this moment, this kind of option is not on the table.
