The Argentine GP will be held for the last time at Termas de Río Hondo this year. However, its continuity may not be at risk, as there is an alternative – the Autódromo Óscar y Juán Gálvez.
According to SPEEDWEEK.com, Dorna intends to remain in the country, and a return to the circuit on the outskirts of Buenos Aires is on the table. In fact, the entity’s sporting director, Carlos Ezpeleta, visited the facilities last Wednesday. He also met with representatives from the city and the local promoter, OSD Group.
The track is undergoing modernization work, carried out by Studio Dromo – the same company that designed the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, among others. If MotoGP continues in Argentina, it could feature two South American rounds, as the return of the Brazilian GP in Goiânia has already been announced for 2026.
In other words, if the Argentine GP moves to Buenos Aires and both Brazil and the expected return of India are added, two current rounds would have to be dropped – as the calendar is already at the maximum limit of 22 Grands Prix.
