Marc Márquez continues to be one of the references in the MotoGP paddock, despite the fact that in recent years the results have declined – not only due to the injuries he has suffered, but also due to the decrease in competitiveness of Honda.
Roland Berger, Director of the FIM Technical Commission, believes that the Spaniard continues to be unique in terms of riding and motivation. However, in an interview with the website SPEEDWEEK.com, he argued that he will have to have a certain degree of control in his way of riding the current bikes in order to be able to fight for the title:
– He is in a league of his own in terms of riding, but also in terms of motivation: sometimes he simply had a little too much. If you look closely, from time to time he returns to the old style that used to be used. […] Today the tires don’t like that at all. The question is whether he has enough control in himself not to make mistakes. If he can, I even think he is a candidate for the World Championship. If he can’t, he will only win a few races.
