The CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team started this year a partnership with Aprilia in MotoGP. It was a season of ups and downs, not always with the expected results from Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández – with the Portuguese in particular having some bad luck and injuries affecting his adaptation. Razlan Razali, one of the team’s top officials, hopes for better in 2024.
Asked by the site SPEEDWEEK.com if the expectations for 2023 were higher, the Malaysian explained that it was a year of adaptation, despite the high ambitions at the beginning:
– First I have to say that we were ambitious and confident. The season also started well, but then sometimes we had bad luck. People forget that this is our first year with Aprilia. At the same time, Aprilia is managing a satellite team for the first time. This means that it is completely new territory for us; we need to gain experience with the RS-GP22, we need to get used to working with Aprilia. We know that last year Aprilia didn’t work completely without problems. In addition, we have a combination of problems with the team, with Aprilia and the riders.
Razali also emphasized that there are encouraging signs for 2024: ‘If you look at the lap times, we are much faster than the factory riders with this 2022 bike. So it can only get better for next year in our second season with Aprilia‘.
