Less than an hour before the end of the MotoGP preseason, the scenario does not seem positive for Miguel Oliveira. The Trackhouse Racing rider is completing the second and final day of testing in Losail and continues to struggle to be fast.
At the time of writing this article, around 5:19 PM (Continental Portugal time), the Portuguese rider occupies the 21st position on the table. Yesterday, at the end of the day, Oliveira admitted to the press that he was having difficulties being competitive in the turning phase with the 2024 Aprilia RS-GP.
Only after the session ends will new details be known, but based on the times, indications point to #88 still not finding solutions that allow for significant improvements. His best lap was 1m53.462s – 2.510s slower than the leader, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
Even his teammate, Raúl Fernández – with the 2023 bike – is considerably stronger than Oliveira in lap times: in tenth place, nearly one and a half seconds ahead. Somewhat worrying signs when this is the last day on the track before the Qatar GP next March.
