Even though it is far from the best level, Yamaha has never considered leaving MotoGP. This assurance is given by Lin Jarvis, who did not hesitate to mention that the current situation is not acceptable.‘situação atual não é aceitável’.
In an interview with Michel Turco, the General Director of Yamaha Motor Racing ensured that, despite the recent difficulties, there was never a moment when the manufacturer considered abandoning the competition: ‘Yamaha never thought about leaving MotoGP. It was never discussed within the company’s management. It is true that we don’t just want to be there, we want to fight for podiums, victories, and championships, and that is why the current situation is not acceptable’.
However, Jarvis made it clear that the desire is to see the team recover competitiveness levels as quickly as possible: ‘Yamaha has no plans to withdraw from racing, but wants to recover its competitiveness as quickly as possible’.
Yamaha will continue next season with Fabio Quartararo as the main reference, who will be joined by Álex Rins, currently a rider for LCR Honda.
