Deniz Öncü won the Moto3 Australian GP, in a race marked by heavy rain and extremely challenging conditions for the riders, leading to multiple incidents and the need for careful risk management.

The race featured very difficult conditions with heavy rain and strong winds, so caution was crucial. Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) stood out in the early stages, with his teammate Collin Veijer in second place.

In the second lap, Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) overtook both to take the lead. Veijer later lost two more positions, dropping to fifth in an exchange with Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP). In the fourth lap, Öncü passed Sasaki and moved into second place.

At this point, Fernández was taking advantage of a clear track without spray ahead to build a solid lead. Sasaki would also lose position to Kelso, while Fernández maintained a comfortable lead. However, Öncü found a way to close the gap.

With seven laps to go, Öncü made a mistake, nearly falling and losing positions to Sasaki and, later, to Kelso.

Disaster struck for Fernández one lap later when, while well on his way to his first win, he crashed and was out of contention. Sasaki inherited the lead.

After his mistakes, Öncü managed to regain his pace and ended the race pressuring Sasaki. The Turkish rider completed a successful overtake in turn ten on the final lap to claim victory. The Japanese rider finished in second, and racing on his home turf, Kelso secured third place. Veijer was fourth, and Fernández managed to secure fifth place. Further back, the championship leader, Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda), finished in eighth place.
