The departure of Davide Brivio from the Alpine Formula 1 team, where he had been since 2021, was announced this Tuesday. Speculation is rife that a return to MotoGP may be imminent, but for now there is nothing official.
What is certain is that the Italian, who made a name for himself at Yamaha and Suzuki in MotoGP, confirmed that he left the French team by his own choice: ‘I am grateful to Alpine for accommodating my desire to pursue other opportunities that may (and I hope they do) arise in the future‘.
Rumors point to Repsol Honda as a likely destination for Brivio – as the Japanese manufacturer needs to make significant changes and progress. European manufacturers do not seem to need to introduce new leaders into their factory teams, as Yamaha also appears to have a solid structure despite recent results.
