In the past month of December, Davide Brivio announced his departure from Alpine in Formula 1. Rumors pointed to a possible return to MotoGP with Repsol Honda, but now Yamaha emerges as a possibility… in the position currently occupied by Lin Jarvis.
The newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the Italian was speculated to replace the British – who may have 2024 as the last season in the position of team management director. And Brivio is far from being a stranger to Yamaha, having been one of the protagonists in the hiring of Valentino Rossi for 2004.
On the other hand, considering his connection to Il Dottore, he could be key to securing a satellite team agreement with VR46 Racing Team in 2025. And, as is known, Yamaha is eager to have a second team, while VR46’s contract with Ducati expires at the end of this year.
Between 2004 and 2010, Brivio was a team manager for Yamaha, experiencing a golden era in that period with several titles for Rossi. More recently, he was a key figure in the Suzuki project before leaving for Alpine in F1 at the end of 2020.
