Danilo Petrucci is at risk of missing the next round of the World Superbike Championship. The Barni Spark Racing Team rider suffered a crash while training in motocross and will undergo surgery.
After Andrea Dovizioso, it was Petrux who got injured in this sport. According to the team, the Italian suffered fractures in the right clavicle and jaw, and will indeed need surgery.
The crash occurred at the Cingoli circuit about a week before the Assen round (April 19-21). There are still no details on when the operation will take place or what the recovery time will be.
It is certain that participating in Assen seems practically impossible, considering the short time until this round and the locations of the fractures. Afterwards, Petrucci will have almost two months to recover until Misano, scheduled for June 14-16.
