The 2024 MotoGP season was set to feature 22 Grands Prix, but with the cancellation of the Argentina, Kazakhstan, and India rounds, and the addition of a second Grand Prix at Misano, the final calendar consists of 20 races.

For the upcoming season, the return to Czechia is confirmed, while Argentina, Kazakhstan, and India have valid contracts despite not hosting the championship this year. If these contracts are honored, one of the other Grands Prix this year will have to be dropped to meet the limit of 22.

The rotation scheme among the Iberian Peninsula rounds could come into play – something already planned and even implemented in 2023 when the Aragón GP was excluded. Currently, all Spanish events are contracted: Aragón, Catalonia (Barcelona), Spain (Jerez), and Valencia. However, the Portuguese GP does not have a contract, and, as in recent years, meeting financial requirements has been challenging.

As a result, the Portimão event might be at significant risk of being out of the calendar to make way for Brno, especially if Argentina, Kazakhstan (which would be a debut), and India return. Additionally, the Hungaroring signed a contract in 2023 to host MotoGP in Hungary starting from 2025.

Two Grands Prix are already fully confirmed: Thailand, scheduled from February 28 to March 2 as the season opener, and the British GP from May 23 to 25.
