Without a contract for 2025, Marc Márquez is one of the riders whose future is more shrouded in speculation – after all, he is the one with the most world titles won in the current paddock.
The Spaniard joined Gresini this year, with the primary goal of regaining the feeling of being competitive after the difficulties of recent years – whether due to injuries or due to Honda’s loss of competitiveness.
One of the rumors is that Márquez could be an option for Aprilia. But how does the rider view this option? In a press conference, he began by emphasizing that he considers Ducati to be the best current bike:
– Now the European manufacturers are at a very good level. Of course, for me, the Ducati bike is the best – or the one with the most potential on all tracks. For that reason, I chose the path of the Ducati bike with the Gresini team, because I was looking for the best bike that I thought existed, and it’s still there.
Regarding Aprilia specifically, the eight-time world champion noted that there is already evidence that winning is possible: ‘It is clear that Aprilia and KTM are getting closer and closer, and in this case when they asked me about Aprilia… Maverick [Viñales] proved that you can win races, and even Aleix [Espargaró] was able to win at Montmeló last year‘.
