When Jorge Martín was in the Moto2 World Championship, he was linked to KTM, competing in the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. However, upon his promotion to MotoGP, he joined Ducati and has been with Pramac since 2021.
For the upcoming year, the current championship leader has the ambition to finally make the leap to a factory team – whether with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer or any other.
If there is no room for him at Ducati, KTM could be an interesting alternative – considering that it is currently one of the manufacturers that can best compete with the Italians. But is Martín an option for the Mattighofen team?
KTM Motorsports Director, Pit Beirer, was asked about this possibility by Motorsport-Magazin and replied: ‘I don’t want to speculate about Marc [Márquez] or Martín. Both riders are very strong at the moment, they are with Ducati, and have few reasons to change bikes. So I don’t think it’s so important to give my two cents on what I think of the two riders. I truly appreciate both as brilliant racing riders‘.
