Cooper Webb secured his second victory of the season in the AMA Supercross this weekend at Lumen Field, Seattle, and could not be more pleased with the triumph, even considering this was ‘probably’ the ‘worst track’ he has ever been on. ‘This is probably – we always say it every weekend – but by far the toughest track I’ve ever ridden on. And it was very difficult; we were all trying to keep up the pace, but had to be careful with the changing lines, ruts, holes… My arm was shaking a lot at the end and it was just a matter of surviving, but I managed to hold on. Chase [Sexton] rode really well, obviously made some mistakes, then I made mistakes, and we went back and forth, so I’m very happy,’ he said quoted on the RacerX site, ending with a word of thanks to his team.
– I just want to thank God, I want to thank the team; man, we had some adversities and we are fighting against them, and it’s fantastic to win. It’s crazy to see Jett doing it over and over again and we want to have that feeling again… I’m excited.
Webb won with a 0.592s advantage over Sexton, the current champion of the category.
