Andrea Iannone made a strong start to the new season of the Superbike World Championship. A debutant in the championship after a four-year suspension due to a doping case, not only did he reach the podium, but he also started from the front row of the grid – he was second in the Superpole.
The chief mechanic of Team GoEleven’s rider, Filippo Burgatti, was asked by the website GPOne.com about what aspect Iannone has grown the most as a rider. In his response, the engineer stated:
– I would say the qualifying, which was his weak point during the winter. Initially, it seemed that the bike was not perfect, but it was. But then Andrea did a very good time, surprising me. His peculiarity requires a lot. In fact, we talk a lot. But then, more than anyone else, he understands the potential that the set has. Andrea has a very clear idea. He may stress us a bit. He is aware of how much he can give.
